Reflections Framed 2017

Reflections Framed 2017 – A Celebration of Military Service, Past and Present

The Reflections Framed project is about finding, framing, celebrating and retaining military service memories to be enjoyed for generations to come. And it’s FREE!

A Reflection is a military memory, submitted by a member of our community that includes a photo(s), a caption for the photo, a short story about the photo and optionally, an audio tape of the subject (or designate) talking about his or her experience. The Reflection can be dramatic or simple; it can be about you or someone you know; it can be about someone still with us or long passed; and it can be about a veteran or someone in active duty.

Once you submit your Reflection, Bob Greene from DuPage Framing Center will frame it, Betsy Adamowski's Wheaton Public Library team will digitally archive it, and we will all celebrate as Wheaton College ROTC cadets present the colors and the Reflections to the recipient.

This year's celebration, our fourth, will be on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Cantigny, a perfect venue! The presentation of the Reflections will start at 5 pm at Cantigny's Le Jardin restaurant (1S151 Winfield Rd., Wheaton, IL 60189) with doors opening at 4 pm. Light snacks and drinks will be available from 4 - 5 pm.

Reflections will be accepted until October 31st.

Since our launch on Veterans Day 2014 we have recognized nearly 200 Reflections and we look forward to recognizing yours!

All proceeds will go the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (a private, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization.)

We look forward to celebrating with you on Veterans Day!
