Reflections Framed 2018

Reflections Framed 2018 – A Celebration of Military Service, Past and Present – our Fifth Year!

The Reflections Framed project is about finding, framing, celebrating and retaining military service memories to be available for generations to come. And it’s FREE!

A Reflection is a military memory … a reflection … submitted by a member of our community that includes a photo(s), a caption for the photo, a short story about the photo and optionally, an audio tape of the subject (or designate) talking about his or her military experience. The Reflection can be dramatic or simple; it can be about you or someone you know; it can be about someone still with us or long passed; and it can be about a veteran or someone in active duty.

Once you submit your Reflection, by clicking on SUBMIT YOUR REFLECTION HERE and completing the form, Bob Greene from DuPage Framing Center will custom design your frame, Betsy Adamowski's Wheaton Public Library team will archive it, and all you have to do is wait for the big day!

This year's celebration, our fifth, will be on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Cantigny’s Le Jardin restaurant (1S151 Winfield Rd., Wheaton, IL 60189), the perfect venue! Doors open at 5 pm with light snacks and drinks. At 6 pm the program will start with the presentation of the colors provided by the Wheaton College Rolling Thunder Cadets. Then each participant will receive their Reflection Framed from a cadet, with their family and friends by their side, and take it home to stay.

Since our launch on Veterans Day 2014 we have recognized approximately 250 servicemen and servicewomen with Reflections Framed and in 2017 were fortunate to receive a Governor’s Service Award for the project.

Reflections will be accepted until November 1st (but we appreciate early submissions!)

All project proceeds will go the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization)

We look forward to celebrating with you on Sunday, November 11th at Cantigny!

Any questions, call or email … and join us!
